Waterfalls in Northern California don't get much better than this.

This is Burney Falls, located in the McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park just outside of Redding, CA. It's about a 1.2 mile hike, with a maintained trail.
The water is way too cold to swim in, about 42° F. However, the pool at the bottom is a popular location for catch-and-release fly fishing.
Unfortunately, the waterfall has gained over three times the average visitors since Covid happened. Surviving the crowds will reward you with this amazing view!
