Mostly known for its driftwood beaches, Jekyll Island is a self-governing and self-sustaining island off of the Georgian coast.

The driftwood beaches give the Jekyll Island coast an eerie but interesting feel.
Jekyll Island is a beautiful island governed by the Jekyll Island-State Park Authority and is sustained by saving rainwater and restoring its natural communities.
The island is open to the public and very inviting, with 104 hotels and resorts. There are also many different recreational activities, like playing beach volleyball and golfing. It costs about $8.00 a day and $75.00 for a 12-month pass to visit.
